
Penny Moore at Aevitas Creative Management is currently seeking a remote intern to work closely with in children’s books during Spring 2020. Candidates should be available to start in March and able to commit to 2-3 days per week through May (start and end dates are flexible).
This is an excellent opportunity for college students interested in careers in publishing but are unable to relocate to NYC at this time. Aevitas Creative Management is a dynamic and editorially driven agency, and interns will receive an introduction to agenting. Regular duties will include:
– Reading manuscript submissions and providing readers reports.
– Conducting market research via social media and news outlets
– Brainstorming book ideas and potential clients to pursue
– Other miscellaneous tasks
Ideal applicants will be perceptive readers with a strong interest in children’s books, everything ranging from picture books, middle grade, to young adult. They should also be comfortable with meeting deadlines and managing projects both collaborative and solo.
Applicants should be current undergraduate students with an interest in publishing. To be fully transparent, the internship is unpaid, but we do offer course credit and will make every effort to provide an excellent industry reference for proficient work.
